Report
As far as I can tell, the first couple of days of school have gone well. Of course, at dinner on Tuesday, Tad showed me what he’d done in school that day…. he’d taken his brand-new scissors from his pencil box and tried them out on his brand-new shirt. There was a nice, crisp cut into the hem of his shirt.
Let’s just say that there was yelling and tears involved. And a needle and thread.
Yesterday, when Tad got off the school bus, I asked him if he’d had a good day. He held out the hem of his T-shirt and said, “Well, I didn’t cut my shirt!”
I had to admit, that was a VERY good thing. As I valiantly tried to not to laugh.
Ane likes her new teacher and is adjusting to the new routine of the school day. I’m getting lots of updates on “who did what” and “who said what” from her.
And today is going to be insane, because the Webmaster is having some long-overdue shoulder surgery today. He injured his shoulder playing baseball in high school, and 20 years later, it really needs some fixing. So, I will be his driver today, while Auntie stands in for me at home with the kids, getting them off to school and keeping a lid on Rerun. Hopefully, I will have a good follow-up report tomorrow!
