Party At the Pump! It Up!

For the sixth year in a row, we threw a birthday party for Tad at Pump It Up.  They appreciate our repeat business.  Tad appreciates getting to jump and enjoy himself.

Sadly, Thumper was under the weather, so the Webmaster had to stay home with him.  “Are you going to be okay?” he asked.

“Are you kidding?  I’ve got Friend, and Danny’s mom, and Lisa all showing up!  I’ve got professional mom help!” I proclaimed.

I also had Ane’s help, which was instrumental in getting the cupcakes to the party, and getting everything assembled and ready.  We are doing a shark theme this year, with a Hawaiian twist, in honor of Tad’s shark dive.

The kids had a great time, and Tad was happy to see some of his school friends in the mix.

And after so many years of throwing these parties, I’ve learned the secret to a really good party is… pizza.

Seriously, kids just like to jump and then eat.  It’s very simple.

And Tad was all about his cupcakes.

And the presents.  Though as he gets older, and understands what gift cards can do, the gift opening is a lot different than it was when he was younger.

One gift which was not a gift card was the plush whale shark Destiny from “Finding Dory” – a present from Friend and Doc and the boys.

This led to the best line of the day, because on the way home in the car, Rerun picked up the whale shark and Tad yelled, “MOM!  Rerun has my Destiny!”  Ane and I couldn’t stop laughing.  I foresee a lot of laughs in the future – so far, we’ve also had “Don’t sit on Destiny” and “I’m not sharing my Destiny!”  So thanks for the extra laughs, Friend and Doc!

The party was exactly the kickoff that Tad was wanting for his birthday week.

Now he has to wait a little bit, because his actual birthday isn’t until Friday!
