The little things…

There is a whole lot of crazy happening right now in this house. We’re going to the ballgame tonight (and the Mariners are on a hot streak – woo-hoo!), I’m holding an open house for the new Stampin’ Up catalog on Saturday, and my sister-in-law and my niece, Belle, are coming into town on Sunday evening for a visit. This will be the first time that I’ve gotten to see Belle, and she is 3 and a half months old now. And I’m planning on making rainbow jello for the church picnic on Sunday!

With all of the big things that are happening around here right now, and will continue for the next two weeks, I’m trying to find satisfaction and quiet in the little things of life. I figure it’s the only way I’ll stay sane. Here’s just a few that I’ve taken note of in the last 24 hours:

– the Munchkin using the potty all day yesterday, with the exception of one poopy pull-up
– the smell of Johnson & Johnson’s baby shampoo on Baby Boy’s hair after his bath
– Baby Boy clinging to me in his sleep before I laid him down for bed
– the Munchkin just wanting one more kiss before bedtime
– getting the tracking number for my new catalogs (they’re supposed to be delivered TODAY!)
– getting the waitresses at Red Robin to sing “Happy Birthday” to the Webmaster, with the Munchkin clapping gleefully along
– getting the living room vacuumed properly
– talking to my sister over the phone from her new house in Texas
– coming up with a new idea for a card and making it work the way I thought it would
– being able to give the Munchkin something that would please her tremendously for no reason at all (the Golden Book edition of Disney/Pixar’s Cars)
– starting my Christmas shopping and realizing how much I’ve already done (I am a sick, sick person)

Here’s hoping that over the holiday weekend, you all will be able to take joy and satisfaction from the little as well as the big things. I’ll still be here and blogging… since we just bought a minivan, we are now too broke to go anywhere. Plus, Belle is coming here!! I can’t wait for the Munchkin and Baby Boy to meet their cousin.

Christmas shopping!? I haven’t even started thinking about next week yet.
