FOUND

One short glass icicle.

Apparently, someone with little fingers removed it from the tree, thought better of it, then placed it back on tree by laying it on top of a branch, undetectable to the four pairs of adult eyes which searched for it.

It revealed itself when I was taking the ornaments off the tree and it fell onto the floor. Surprise!

The tree did not come down fast enough, in my opinion. With it gone, a major source of trouble is removed from the kids’ reach for another year. But will they be surprised with they wake up this morning to find it outside waiting for the Boy Scouts!
