Boot Boy

Tad has a thing for puddles. As in, he does this thing where he walks straight into them and stamps his feet. He’s going through about two pairs of jeans a day.

And his poor shoes can only take so much. However, he outgrew the boots that he loved so much last fall:

So, it was definitely time to get him new boots. And this is the season when they are available. So, after looking at my options, I chose the ones that were the most, um, HIM:

Because he just wouldn’t be Tad without Lightning McQueen on his feet.

I bought them for him on Saturday and he hasn’t actually worn them outside yet, but he’s wearing them around the house quite a bit. He was quite thrilled to get them – what boy wouldn’t be? – and his sister was equally devastated that she DIDN’T get new boots. Ane hasn’t quite outgrown hers yet, and they didn’t even have her next size up in a boot that she would want. But do you think that mattered? Heck no! Tad got something, and SHE DIDN’T.

Fortunately, I talked her down pretty quickly. And really, she doesn’t want Cars boots, so she was able to be happy for him.

And if he could sleep with these boots on, he would.
