RIP, Clothesline

This was a common feature of our yard every summer.

Laundry on the clothesline, drying in the warm summer weather.

No more. 🙁

Right after I took the above picture, I started hanging up some towels.  And then the top ring of the clothesline snapped, sending one pole off crazy and right down on my shoulder.

Ow.

Then as I was trying to take the laundry off, one of the top pole’s securing hook gave way.  The hook had completely rusted through and snapped in half.

Sigh.

Rest in peace, clothesline… you have given six years of service.

Time to get a new one – just as soon as I can find one (probably at McLendon’s).  And we’ll have to figure out how to properly dispose of this one, too.

In the meantime, I guess I’ll be running my dryer at night on these hot days.

A kid thought my first one was a monkey bar, and it bit the dust. Found a new one, but it’s pretty weak. But it was full yesterday. Love the feel and smell of line-dried clothes.

A clothesline?! The BIRDS think it is the best roosting spot!
I do use a clothesline rope, tied between the two deck posts(covered deck) to hang some things! But even then, the hummingbirds think I put it out for them! Therefore, PG&E benefits! hugs to all!
