Jubilee Parade

We spent last Saturday visiting the Webmaster’s parents, and going to the annual Loggers’ Jubilee parade.  The kids LOVE the parade.  And this is the reason why.

CANDY.

Nana and Papa’s house is not that far (less than a block) from the beginning of the parade route, so the kids always get tons of candy thrown at them.  And this is an election year, so there were lots of cars with politicians throwing candy, too.  And handing out other things.

Rerun liked the stickers, but he kept putting them on his forehead.

We had a good time with Nana and Papa, and saw some other extended family, too.  When we left that afternoon, Rerun crashed in his car seat before we could even get out of town.

Then we stopped at the outlet mall on the way home and did some back-to-school shopping for Ane, since she doesn’t have a birthday that will bring her new clothes during the summer.  We found some cute things and made it home before dark.

Only three more weeks until school starts…

And today is Gichan’s birthday!  Happy birthday, Dad/Gichan/Chani!  We love you!

My grandparents to me and my brothers to the Logger’s Jubiliee…years and years ago! I found out about it as it was going on this year, but I’m putting it on the 2013 calendar. And thanks for the head’s up on the candy–Kyla still asks when our town’s parade is going to be, as she scores more candy there than on Halloween!
