Thumper’s First Fourth

Here are some pictures from our 4th of July celebration.  We ended up not going to the local parade this year, as Tad was still not fully recovered from his ear infection.  Instead, we had a small barbecue at our house with Grandma, Gichan, Auntie and Obachan.  The Webmaster and I put on a small spread with a little something for everyone.

Auntie stayed after everyone else left because she wanted to blow up some fireworks with us.  Thumper was too little to care (except that he fell asleep and the booming noises woke him up), but Ane and Tad were very excited.

Unfortunately, Rerun was not quite so excited.  While his sister and brother and aunt were all waving sparklers and his father was setting off the larger fireworks, Rerun was hiding between the cars in our driveway.

I finally took him inside, where he was much happier Skyping with his Gichan over the iPod.  So I ended up missing the big ones while I kept the little boys inside.  But the older two had a blast – literally!
