Baseball Night!

It took a while, but we finally got to our first game of the season!  Auntie has been working a lot at the games lately, and she graciously provided us with tickets (and her employee discount in the team store).  The Webmaster met us at Uwajimaya (where he and I got some takeout to take in… ha ha), and then we walked over to Safeco Field!

When we got there, the first order of business was to buy Tad a new baseball hat.  His old hat, which he has loved and worn for years, was finally worn out and too small for his head (technically, it was toddler-sized).  He picked out a classic navy “S” hat with an adjustable band.  We tried to get a picture of all four kids in their Mariners hats, and this was the best we could get…

… mostly because Rerun was starving and really wasn’t in the mood for pictures.  Thumper was, though!

In fact, Thumper was quite enthralled with the atmosphere of the stadium and was thoroughly enjoying himself.

With Mommy

The game was a close one, but we won over the Indians, 3-2!  Thumper did end up taking a nap from the 7th to the 9th innings.  He’s a fourth child – he can sleep through noise.

Once the kids ate the food we had packed in the travel cooler, they were much happier.  They all behaved well.  And it was Fireworks Night at Safeco Field!

Ane and Tad loved the fireworks display!  Thumper was curious (he had woken up at the end of the game), but tucked into Mommy’s arms, he was fine.  Poor Rerun was exhausted, and he is not overly fond of fireworks.  He was willing to watch at different times, but he was too tired to even attempt to enjoy them.

It made for a very late night.  Good thing we love baseball!
