A hodgepodge of things

There is a lot going on right now, but nothing is really coming to me as being so important that it deserves its own post. So, here is a bunch of little tidbits for all of you…

Baby Boy finally cut a tooth! We’ve only been waiting for, oh, A WEEK!!! It had just been sitting there, this giant white bulge on his top gum, making him miserable. His fevers have started up again (boo). And the Munchkin started breaking forth with a fever herself as well. They both got a dose of infant/children’s Tylenol before bedtime.

The Munchkin used the potty twice yesterday, plus she sat on it twice more. Once at my insistence (post-nap, and she was cranky and feverish and refused to go), and once as a stall tactic to get out of bed. She is actually starting to ask for the potty, and so even if it is a stall tactic, we really can’t refuse her at this point. And she knows it, the devious little snot.

Humans 4, Mice 0.
After a month or so of no mice, we have caught two within twelve hours of each other. I was gardening on Sunday afternoon and we had the garage door open, so they may have snuck in that way and found their last snack. The Webmaster, on the advice of a contractor friend of ours, stuffed their possible access point in the garage floor (around a dryer hose) with steel wool (something that they won’t like to chew through). We’ll see what happens next.

I got my new Taste of Home magazine! Who wants to try the Rhubarb Swirl Cheesecake – it has white chocolate in it!

Today is my half-birthday! I think I will celebrate by running the dishwasher. And I will eat some of the gingersnaps that the Munchkin and I made last night. They are good with milk, and are the Munchkin’s favorite non-chocolate cookie. She got two cookies fresh out of the oven for dessert last night.

Baby Boy is pulling himself up on furniture.
He is seven and a half months old.
Why must my children do this to me???

March is coming to an end. You know what that means!!
Time to start thinking about my Christmas cards!

Yippee for Baby Boy’s tooth, but why couldn’t he pull up on furniture when I was there!? I’ll have to wait months to see it now! We miss all of you already.

You know what’s good for mice, don’t you? Cats! Now Phoebe and Sabina are so rotund that they don’t *look* like they’d be able to catch a mouse. Nevertheless, we’ve never had mice. Ergo, cats prevent mice! I think there’s a logical fallacy somewhere in there, but I don’t care because cats are cute.

As for the Christmas cards, you’re nuts, but in a good way.

We have seriously considered a cat – but we would also like the kids to be older when we get a pet. I would like to make sure that the Munchkin wouldn’t “love” it to death. 🙂
