Snow Day!

Again!

Ane was deeply disappointed that school was cancelled yesterday (and it most likely will be again today, and I’m not sure we’ll be getting out at all – it depends on the roads). But we did manage to get outside and have a bit of fun in about 5 to 6 inches of fresh snow!

Tad really did well in the snow. His gloves are a smidge too big for him, but he really needed something on his hands. And I still just love this hat on him.

We got to borrow a sled from Big J and Little Mo (who had had their fill of snow already). Ane was quite eager for a ride, but then was yelling at me to stop going so fast. ???

So Ane got off, and Tad got a nice, easy ride from his sister.

She got quite the workout, as you can tell.

We had a snowball fight. The Webmaster came out and participated (he ended up working from home because he couldn’t get to the park and ride to catch his bus). Tad wanted to play catch with the snowballs, but he learned quickly that they explode on impact.

Ane and I have been reading Little House in the Big Woods, so she decided to make a snow angel (we didn’t have a stump short enough for her to make “pictures” with by falling forward off it, as they do in the book). She made a few of these across the front yard – and was then upset when we were indoors and it began snowing again, because it was “messing up” her snow angels!

So, we built a fire and stayed nice and warm all day. We’ll see how the weather cooperates today, but I have a feeling that we might be staying put for a while.
