Cold Snap

It’s getting chilly outside… and Ane wants to know when it will snow.

She seems to have forgotten completely how much she whined last winter when we got positively BURIED under snow.

I keep reminding her that when it snows, there is no school, and getting around becomes a big problem.

“Can I pray for snow?” she asked me.

“Sure. But when you pray, be sure to ask God to only send the kind of snow that sticks to grass and stays off the roads,” I replied.

The irony is, I got a text message yesterday evening from the Captain. It’s snowing now in Missouri.

I should have sent Ane home with them.

In the meantime, I have broken out the winter coats, found my gloves, and told the Webmaster to bring in the fireplace tools so we can start using some of that wood that he split while he was unemployed this spring and summer. I also found the window scraper in the car and had to use it yesterday.

I think winter is here.

We’ve gotten below freezing the past two nights and are in for another several days of highs below 40 degrees. Fun. I did buy Baby Cousin an adorable fleece hat for school that she actually leaves on, which I forgot at home today.

It snowed in Missouri? Weird. It was above 60 today in Connecticut. Warm. But then it was also really windy! Not so warm. How bizarre weather is.
