Overheard while the kids are watching TV:

Tad: Look, Ane, a red fish!
Ane: Tad, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Tad: (thoughtfully) Hmmm… a red fish.
Ane: How about a deep sea diver?  Then you can look at fish and sharks and octopus!
Tad: Yeah, okay!
Ane: (hesitantly) Only… be careful and don’t get yourself killed, okay?
Tad: Okay.

At least, that’s what this expression looks like.

Maybe he knows what I’m getting for Mother’s Day!

And to all of you moms out there… Happy Mother’s Day!  You matter more than you know.

    I tell my kids that Mother’s Day is a Hallmark holiday, and to just ignore it. Sometimes they call or send me a card. I’m OK with that too.
