Dad at home

Yesterday was a full day.  It was also the first day that the Webmaster was home after being let go.  To make things easier on myself, I decided to leave Tad at home with the Webmaster while I took Rerun with me to MOPS at church.

I left the Webmaster with very explicit instructions on what Tad could eat, what TV he could watch, what time to go wait for the bus, and his clothes all laid out.

All of those instructions were followed properl, which was good to hear.  I was the one who went to wait for Tad to get off the bus in the afternoon.

When I woke him up (the poor kid is constantly falling asleep on the bus after school – it’s that ride home via the freeway), I noticed something about what he was wearing.  We walked home from the bus stop, him telling me excitedly about the library book he’d picked out – surprise, it was a shark book.

We walked in the door and I called for the Webmaster.  When he came in the room, I asked, “Did our son dress himself, or is he training to be a firefighter?”

Because Tad was still wearing his pajama bottoms under his jeans.

Granted, they were shorts, and they do slightly resemble boxers.  But still.

The Webmaster grimaced.  No, Tad really hadn’t dressed himself.

On the up side, Tad does like the idea of being a firefighter.

Hey, I take any help I can get around the house and with the kids. 🙂

Dads can’t do anything around the house as well as Moms can. Even mac and cheese from a box is better when Mom does it. And at least Tad is a boy and the Webmaster didn’t have to try and do his hair.
