Getting the all-clear

I had my follow-up appointment with the doctor who took out my gallbladder yesterday. As I sat waiting in the exam room, reading and waiting, I heard the nurse say to the doctor, “She’s in there. This will be quick.”

No kidding. He spent less than three minutes with me. I got a copy of my pathology report, he took a look at my superglued incisions and declared that they were healing well, told me to start whatever activity I felt physically up to doing, and sent me on my merry way.

I spent more time waiting to see the doctor than I actually spent with him. I can’t wait to see the bill for those three minutes.

So, it’s official, I am healing up and getting better, and I can pick Rerun up with my doctor’s blessing. Yay!

I also read the pathology report and saw that I had multiple gallstones, the largest which measured 1.5 centimeters. Ouch. No wonder I hurt – I had my own little bag of gravel right under my ribs!

To repeat a previous sentiment: Ew.

Oh, you will see a bill! But, not for that post-op visit. That one is included in the global (package) service. What a deal! I know Rerun is happy that you can pick him up again.

So glad to hear you are doing well. And I’m sure your kids are glad to have their mommy getting back to “normal”. 🙂 Take care.
