Sunshine and Blue Skies

The first full day of spring, and we actually got some sunshine around here!  It was too nice to stay inside, so Rerun and I went outside to play!

First, there were bubbles.

And I caught this picture of my own personal ray of sunshine.

Then we went around to the front, and I broke out my Christmas present from my niece Beth – sidewalk chalk!

Rerun is really – REALLY – into the alphabet right now.  He can identify 21 letters (he says “coo” for Q – it’s freaking adorable), and totally shocked our elderly neighbor who came out to chat.  Then I let him have a piece of chalk, too.

He had a good time, and I wrote numbers along the other side and drew a lousy version of Mater in the middle of the driveway.

He didn’t seem to care that Mama is not the greatest artist in the world.

I puttered around and did some pruning, while he played with chalk and sticks and dirt.

We spent almost 2 hours outside and then came in for lunch and a nap.  He slept well.

This spring and summer are going to be a lot of fun with him!
