Birthday Game

Saturday was the Webmaster’s birthday!  It ended up being a very hot day around here as well.  We had a fun day planned for him.

First, he took Ane and Tad to see Monsters University in the morning while I kept the little boys at home with me.  Then Grandma and Gichan watched the three older kids while we took Thumper to the Mariners game.  I had gotten some really good seats for the Webmaster’s birthday – close enough to watch Auntie at work!

And if you are wondering what Auntie did to herself, she dislocated her thumb catching a ball at a game earlier in the week.  OW.  But she’s a trooper, and was out doing her ballgirl shift in the summer heat!

Thumper was coping pretty well with the heat and the sunshine, and fortunately by the time the game started, our seats were in the shade.

The Mariners did not cooperate with our celebrating, and ended up losing in 11 innings, 5 to 3, to the Cubs.  But it was a gorgeous night for a game, and we had a very well behaved baby with us.  He actually managed to catch a couple of short naps, even with all the noise around him, and charmed all the people sitting around us.

The Webmaster said he had a fun birthday, despite the loss, and that’s all that really matters.

That, and no one got sunburned.
