Our new microwave has a great feature!  A child lock!

When the child lock is on, you can hit all the buttons you want, and nothing happens!  A certain preschooler, for example, will be unable to cook a Duplo to medium-melt.  All you get is a lot of beeping noise – which is, apparently, what is attractive to Thumper in the first place.

This is a fantastic feature, and it saves us a lot of worry from what Thumper might learn to do next.

How did I discover this magnificent feature?

Thumper set the child lock, and I had to read the manual to figure out how to unlock it.  Mother of the year, that’s me.
