Ane Speaks… and gets busted
When Ane is on a roll, bedtime is the last thing that she wants to hear about. Unfortunately, she doesn’t get much choice in the matter.
Last night, I told her, “Ane, it’s time to get ready for bed.”
“NOOO!!!” she wailed.
“Yes, it is. Let’s get your jammies on and then you can pick out a book to read.”
Frustrated beyond all measure, she threw the toy she was holding across the room (a big no-no in our house) and sighed heavily. “I quit. I not listening to you anymore.”
A few short sentences from Mommy reminded her of who was in charge here, and elicited an apology. We then proceeded onward to bedtime without further incident.
I didn’t know you could just quit listening to Mom at age three, did you? I thought I got at least 10 more years!

10 years? I’m still listening to Mom, and I have to or I’ll be in trouble! 😉
