Ane Speaks – and she’s better than TV Guide

Monday night, the Webmaster turned on the TV to make sure that “24” was going to tape. It’s a good thing that our DVR withdrawl is over. After using a DVR from the Webmaster’s former employer (two jobs ago now) that they didn’t want back and being very happy with it, the digital cable deal pulled the plug on everything but the lower channels. As we were contemplating what to do – especially with no discretionary income at the moment – our cable company that starts with a C and rhymes with “omcast” offered us a DVR promo deal – free basic DVR for a year.

Well, far be it from us to say no to free.

Anyway, the channel had been left on ABC, since I had been watching the local news before dinner. When the Webmaster turned it on, a certain dancing show that we don’t watch (I have my hands full with American Idol, thank you) was on.

Ane barely glanced at it. “That’s Dancing With the Stars,” she commented.

The Webmaster did a double-take. As I said, we don’t watch this show. “How do you know that?” he asked her.

She shrugged. “Because I know everything.”

Either the kid is highly observant or she really does know everything. Or she can read the DVR’s TV schedule and hasn’t told us that yet. Take your pick.
