Kindergarten Debrief

As scheduled, I was there at school as soon as the morning kindergarten was over.

Ane was standing against the wall, waiting for me, and pouting.

When I asked her what was wrong, she pointed at the bus, where most of the other kids were getting on. “I want to ride the bus home!”

This triggered yet another conversation about why she’s in half-day kindergarten, and the hoops that we went through to get her into the morning class.

She also informed me that she “got lost” at recess – I think she got completely turned around and got disoriented on the playground – and an older child had to help her find her classroom. It seems that all’s well that ended well, since I saw her teacher when I picked her up and Mrs. V. didn’t say anything to me about it.

And then, proving my point that she’s just not ready for a full day of school yet, she took a two-hour nap after lunch.

Tad’s teachers will be visiting him today to see how he’s been developing over the summer. I told them about the potty training, and they are looking forward to seeing him! Hey, at least he came through this summer in one piece…

Why can’t she take the bus home? Did I miss something?
