Rerun’s First Haircut

Even I had to admit that his hair had gotten too long in front.  I was constantly having to brush it to the side.

If I didn’t, this is what happened:

It was time for Rerun’s first haircut, and I had promised my stylist Rae that she would be the one who could give him his first cut.  Plus, he’s having pictures done today (he’s 18 months old!!!), so I figured it would be better all the way around to have a professional cut.

He sat up in the chair all on his own.

Rae snipped the long bang off in one swish of the scissors, and handed it to me.  It went into a small baggie, which is now in Rerun’s baby book.

Then there was a trimming up, especially of what I have called his “old man fringe” in the back.

He did get a little wiggly, but I came prepared with a bag full of cookies.

Rerun will do pretty much anything for a cookie.  Even sit still for a haircut.

But the problem with bribery is that you can’t run out of the bribe.  Here, Rerun is asking – and signing – for more cookies:

Fortunately, the haircut was over before the cookies ran out.

He still has soft, fluffy hair, it’s just shorter.  And I don’t have to brush the bangs out of his eyes anymore.

He looks like a real little boy now.  My baby is 18 months old.
