Family-Sized Trip to the Zoo

When we do a family trip to the zoo, we go big.

The older kids at the zoo

The Webmaster was the only one who missed out on this trip to Woodland Park Zoo.  The kids and I met Grandma, Gichan, Auntie, Ressis, Little Cousin, Little Cowgirl, and Baby Cousin there last Friday.  Our objectives – see animals, wear the kids out.

"Let's go!"

We started off in the African savanna, and saw zebras and hippos and lions.  The highlight of the area, though, was seeing the zoo’s newest baby – a baby boy giraffe, and his mommy.

Speaking of babies, Thumper and Baby Cousin did very well at the zoo.  Thumper was attached to me…

… while Baby Cousin had a pretty nice ride.

Some people who are too big for strollers at the zoo still found ways to bum a ride.

We tried to get some good pictures of the kids together – at least the older ones – but that proved elusive.

I settled for some nice shots of everyone having fun together.

We had a very full day, walked everyone’s feet off, and saw lots of animals.  The weather started off cool, but ended up fairly warm and pleasant.  But everyone had their fill of the zoo!

I especially like the on of Ressis and Rerun, but they are all good. The baby giraffe is darling.
