Art of the Week – Abstract Feelings

I really love Tad’s art teacher.  This week’s art class was about abstract expression.  She had a “feelings cube” that she had the kids roll – a large cardboard cube with expressions on it, like “happy,” “sad,” “excited,” and so on.  When the cube was rolled, the kids were to draw a line on their paper that made them feel that same emotion.

This is what Tad’s art ended up looking like:

And Tad even had an artistic smudge of pastel chalk on his cheek.

Tad said he thought his piece was “excited,” but I see a lot of symmetry in it, and I think it’s rather peaceful.

And it’s abstract art, so everyone is right!
