More potty fun

Once upon a time (last January), I wrote this post. In it, I mention a Little Tikes log cabin that once existed at our local kids’ salon. And the staff at the salon called it “the outhouse” because kids would invariably go in, close the door, and get a little privacy.

Tad was no exception.

But when management changed at the salon, the log cabin went away and was replaced with a toy kitchen – which, apparently, is not bowel-movement inducing.

Fast-forward to yesterday.

Tad and I had an hour to kill between picking him up from school and picking Ane up from school. So, once Ane’s recess was over and the playground was empty at her school, I let Tad out to play.

Guess what they have on the playground? That same Little Tikes log cabin.

Tad was thrilled to play in one again. And then I saw him stop. And concentrate. And then I said to myself, “Oh, crap.”

Tad came waddling out of the log cabin, and informed me, “Poo. Poo-poo.”

No kidding.

I called the Webmaster after I’d cleaned him up and Ane was out of school to tell him. “Maybe we should just re-do the bathroom and make it look like an outhouse, because that seems to be the only way to make him go on command,” I said. The Webmaster was too busy laughing to reply.

Now, I’m thinking that we should just buy one of those log cabins, stick a toddler potty in it, and let nature take its course. If only.

Maybe Tad’s just not into indoor plumbing. He’s a conservative. 😉

It’s not a bad idea, really.

HA! Just this morning my son told me he doesn’t like going on the toilet, he only likes going outside! I guess we did too much camping in the great outdoors this summer. So when your done with your outhouse plans, please pass them this way.
